WELL, IT HAD TO COME … PENSIONER TODAY !!

Thanks so much for all your good wishes on my becoming a PENSIONER (OUCH!!) today …

I was determined today to get my usual Sunday 100 miles done at a respectable 17mph and try to get 6,000 ft of climbing into it .. It was a GLORIOUS day with wall to wall sunshine , although it was MINUS 1 degree at 7.30 am !! I was so cold for the first hour or so.. I went around the Wirral lanes and out through Connahs Quay to Northop, and over Rhosesmor, and the up the Moel Arthur and careful on the descent as it looked icy !! Then over the Shelf, the back of the Shoe and down the old Shoe and back up the “Proper Shoe” .. Then blitzed it down the Nanr-y-Garth , being chased by a Tesco delivery van .. No contest ! Then into Ruthin , GORGEOUS VIEWS in that valley road ,.. Breath taking .. Up the Bwlch and then left through Cuilcain .. The climb up to Moel-y-Crio and descending fast to Northop, Connahs Quay , the Wirral lanes and home safe … YIPEEEE! What a wonderful day and I did 102 miles at 17mph and over 6,000 feet .. HOORAH …
