1972
Wins the amateur Tour Switzerland; G.P. William Tell; 7th Milk Race; 2nd G.P. Des Nations; chosen for 4 events in Munich Olympic Games; 25 wins.
1973
First year pro for Raleigh with 4 wins. National 50 mile road record (still stands); National 5,000m pursuit champion. 3rd in the Classic Barrachi Trophy two-up time trial with Phil Bayton.
1974
7 Wins, 6 Seconds 5 thirds; Wins Permod Trophy a Best Pro of the Year. National 5,000m pursuit champion.
1975
Based in Holland riding for Peter Posts Raleight Team; 3 wins, 3 seconds, 3 thirds ; Paris-Nice 14th. Tour De Swiss 13th; Tour of Holland 11th. World Champs 23rd.
1976
Illness forces retirement.
1979
Reverts to Amateur 17 Races - 17 Wins All but 2 in course records. (Manchester Whs 1979 - 1984).
1980
22 Races - 22 Wins - All in course and event records.
1981
31 Races - 30 Wins - 1 Second. Breaks National Track Records at 5,000 - 20,000 and 1 Hour. Breaks National 10 mile record in 19mins 11secs.
1982
29 Races - 27 Wins - 2 Seconds. National 25 Champion. 1st Girvan 3 Day. 4th Manx International TT; Team Time Trial Champions, Classic League Winner.
1983
24 Races - 20 Wins - 4 seconds. National 25 mile champion. Classic League Champion All in course records. 3rd Tour of Peak. National 50 mile record in 1.40.37.
1984
10 Races - 9 Wins - 1 Second. 1st Tour of Ulster 4 day. Retired Mid-Season. In 6 years Dave rode 133 Time Trials. Won 125 with worst position of 2nd place just 8 times! With 97 Course Records and 94 event records.

Plus he won the classics:

Isle of Man M.T.T - 5 Times Circuit of the Dales - 5 Times Britannia Trophy - 4 Times Merseyside Invitation T.T. - 4 Times Porthole G.P. - 3 Times Anfield "100" - in 3.47.10.
1985
Professional for 2nd time for Raleigh. 3 wins.
1986
Pro for Birmingham Executive - single rider. 3 wins. 1st Porthole G.P. 1st Britannia Trophy.
1987
Rider / Manager for B.E.A. 5 Man Team. Retired in August.
