Winter is the time to assess your fitness, work on your weaknesses and practice your skills. It's also the time to "lay the base" down for 2010.. Dave's analogy is that the winter is the time to "put in the foundations" for the coming year so that when you start the "top end" work, you will have a foundation to support that "top end".. Just like building a house. Without good foundations , the house will fall down.. Without a good winter base, your top end training will collapse when you begin to do it too !! Just ask any of Dave's athletes who have spent a winter with him and see what difference this has made to their next season... IT'S SO IMPORTANT!
