MEL SNEDDON has only been back with Dave for 6 weeks to prepare for the European Age Related Track Champs.. This weekend she took part in the Nationals and was in superb form with a SECOND place in the Scratch Race and Second Place in the Pursuit with a 4 second PB.. JUST BRILLIANT IN SUCH A SHORT TIME TRAINING PROPERLY MEL... GREAT!!
Matt Howitt produced a great PB too in his 10 mile TT over the week end with a magnificent 20'39"... GREAT FORM COMING MATT !!
Julie Cook had a fantastic ride on Saturday when she won the womens event in the Border City Wheelers hilly 22 miles in FIFTY EIGHT MINUTES FORTY FOUR SECONDS to win by SEVEN MINUTES.. AMAZING RIDE JULIE.... SUPERB !!
Carole Gandy was THIRD in her 25 mile TT with another mind blowing 58 minute ride at 65 years of age.. CAROLE IS LIKE FINE WINE.. SHE JUST KEEPS ON GETTING BETTER AND BETTER...
Kara Chesworth did a super ride in the Blackpool Crit with yet another top ten ride when she got 7th place in the sprint.. IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER KARA !
Simon Thomas produced one of his finest performances to date when he was a BRILLIANT THIRD PLACE in the Ras Du Cymru.. JUST AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE SI ...
Jim Doyle had a brilliant ride on Sunday when he put his injuries behind him to finish 3rd in an 80 mile Road race after setting his team mate up for the win.. UNSELFISH AND GREAT RIDE JIM !!!
Steve Henson did a great ride in his first Marmotte with a 7. 52 38.. It was 42 degrees and windy to make it the hardest Marmotte for years and years.. Other great rides by Paul McGuigan (who went up the Alpe in 58 minutes the next day.. WOW!!!!!) , Nicole Sullivan, Greg Gilbert, Heather Greening (15th in the womens 30-35 years of age.. GREAT!!), Pat Monk, Bart Glover, David Thomas and Dom Icely .....
Even though Dave didn't beat 7 hours, he got through the oppressive heat in 7.28.10 to WIN his age group... ON THE PODIUM FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HIS RACING DAYS... YIPPPEEEE!!!
