MIKE CRIPPS FINISHES ON A HIGH .... AND DAVE REACHES 60 !!!

MIKE CRIPPS went out on a high last weekend when he won the Inter Services Road Race Championship which was a brilliant ride for this promising, strong young rider.. He also got the news today that he'll be going to Afghanistan next year for a 6 month "tour of duty"... He is very phlegmatic about this as I guess you have to be when you are in the forces.. GREAT RIDE THOUGH MIKE AND YOU HAVE IMPROVED OUT OF SIGHT THIS YEAR... DAVE WILL HOLD YOUR ONE TO ONE PLACE UNTIL YOU ARE "SAFELY" HOME NEXT YEAR.... BE SAFE MIKE!!
CAROLE GANDY also finished her season with a flourish when she went under the hour yet again in her most successful short distance season EVER and produced another SUPERB ride to post a 59'22" Dave and Carole are now planning her 2010 season and looking for even better things... CAROLE JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER... SO LOOK OUT!!
DAVE also blitzed the last Sportive of his year The Autumn Epic , when he went round with Nick Croker (who is an animal) and were the only riders inside 5 hours. It was 97 miles with 3,000 metres of climbing and they did 4.54.12.. NOT BAD FOR A 60 YEAR OLD HAS BEEN !!!!
Dave has also attached a great pic by Mike Williams (www.sprint-photo.co.uk) of the Cumbrian Killer.. Dave says "I love this pic.. It's awesome.. You can see the previous descent going back and back and the section I am now on is at least 33% and I am about to catch a rider who was sitting down in the saddle and as I caught him, he pulled on the bars and the front wheel came off the ground and just kept going into a complete reverse somersault.. I've never seen anything like it, but the guy was fine thank goodness, because I wet myself !!!"
"I AM ALSO 60 ON MONDAY which seems to be a HUGE milestone for me for some reason.. I never thought I'd make it.. They say the life expectancy of a Continental Professional bike rider is 53.. So HOW GLAD AM I THAT I STAYED CLEAN ??!! I've a lot more to do yet.. I have SO much on the cards for 2010.. SO many ideas and things to get done... I feel more alive and happier with my life than I ever did!! I've got some great things planned for you guys and looking at new things ALL THE TIME.. Never stand still ...... as the fast forward button is being pressed really hard and there certainly AIN'T NO REWIND... GRAB THE DAY.... GRAB THE DAY... IT WON'T EVER COME AROUND AGAIN !!!!!"
