SO, HERE IS MY NEW BIKE.... IT'S BEEN A REVELATION TO ME AND I WANT TO SHARE IT WITH ALL YOU GUYS OUT THERE.... I HAVE RIDDEN ALL SORTS OF BIKES OVER MY 40 YEAR CAREER.. BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS !! READ ON ....
DIMAR-HBM AND DAVE LLOYD TIE-UP… Recently I was introduced by a mutual friend in the cycling arena to Stefano Doldi. I was immediately impressed with this guy, who seemed to think the same way as me about innovation with regards to cycling equipment. He has the same passion as I do for new equipment for bikes and those “different” quirky bits and pieces that some riders dismiss as gimmicks without even trying them out. I have tried just a few of the “new” ideas that Stefano has recommended and in each case I have seen the advantage and now use them as if I’d always been working with them!
The first biggest and best new product that I hadn’t even heard of before meeting Stefano was the DIMAR-HBM Carbon Fibre Composite Frames.. I liked the idea of a completely “made-to-measure” frame and one that the DIMAR-HBM Team (Andrea, Roberto, Davide and Stefano) could dial into the Composite weave the actual way the frame would ride for my own particular style. I also liked the idea that this frame was made by Artisan Workmen in North of Italy in a small shop, and only built a very limited number (less than 100 in any year!) of these particular “made-to-measure” beauties.
I jumped at the chance to obtain one of these “SUPER FRAMES” when Stefano convinced me with an unexpected “return your money in case you do not like this frame better than any other you have owned in your life!” guarantee, and I sent a drawing of my ideal sized frame.. Along with DIMAR-HBM’s Davide and Roberto’s advice, we made a few minor adjustments to the final frame drawing and within a month I took delivery of my very first (and certainly not my last*) Dimar-HBM…that was named the “STEALTH”… After the very first ride (see 3 pics!) , I realized that this was no ordinary bike and that this was something COMPLETELY SPECIAL. I have been riding different bikes for 40 years and this was like nothing I had ever ridden before.. I fell in love with it. You get on one bike and then another and it’s all a bit “much of a muchness”.. BUT, with this frame I thought.. “WOW! This is something completely new to me!! It handles like a dream, the frame weighs less than 750 grams (naked) and the whole thing just “WORKS”… I have now also been using a pair of borrowed Lightweight wheels with this frame. WOW! AGAIN!.. What a difference they make.. I now have a set on order too !! Stefano asked me to help him promote these frames in the UK and become “part” of the DIMAR-HBM team… I am proud to do so and look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration and using my expertise and my ideas to improve these superb products (if at all possible) starting with the DIMAR-HBM frames into the future…. In fact I now have my second* new frame (with some of my own ideas incorporated into the design) arriving very soon as you will see in the last pic of the four shown, this one has my favourite Carbon wishbone and an integrated seat post.. IT JUST GETS BETTER !! Exciting times for me !!!

Hi Dave,
I live in Andalucia, Spain, a great place to cycle and also ride a Dimar-HBM and as you say, they are an incredible ride. When I got mine I worried at first that the 96cm wheelbase would be 'twitchy and uncomfortable' but it is far from it. Very responsive and fast, handles like a dream.
