Paul McGuigan only started with Dave in October, but has had a great winter prep and was itching to start racing. He entered the Hog Hill Winter Series race yesterday and came away with his first ever win and did it with some style...
When Paul came to see Dave last October Dave could see that he had great potential.. He has been working very hard this winter and is "ultra keen".. Yesterday he got away in a 9 man group at Hog Hill and just rode away from hid breakaway companions with several laps to go to lap practically the whole field once he was alone.. This was a first great win for Paul and one of many , that's for sure..REALLY IMPRESSIVE STUFF PAUL... LOT'S MORE TO COME IN 2009....
Dave has had his first few rides on the "Q" Rings and the Rotor Cranks .....
" I took delivery of these products a couple of weeks ago and they do say they take a lot of getting used to.. I have to say that after just two rides on each of these products, there is a big advantage to be had. The Q rings are less radical than the Rotors , but there is a distinct advantage , as you can "feel" that you are getting more power down easier and I came home the other day in a BLOCK head wind on them at 23 MPH... Not bad for my winter bike and it was a GALE!! "
"The Rotors take a little more adapting to and are more radical than the Q rings, but have even more advantage. On my second time out, I went up a local hill in TWO SPROCKETS higher than I could normally manage... These products have a DEFINITE advantage and I will certainy be using them in 2009.... If they are good enough for Sastre ??!! "
"Just as an aside, I took delivery of my new wheels for 2009 (Campag Bora Ultra Two's) the other day as my old ones are showing signs of wear and tear. BUT I had the old one's decalled up to freshen them up and to "customise" them a bit... See what you think with the pic attached !"
