New bike for 2010 Sportive season

Stand still and you are dead!! Dave has never let the grass grow under his feet and is in the process of trialling a couple of new products...

Dave said he was never closed to the idea of Power Meters and thinks he has found the best yet.. Simple , affordable and will do the job more effectively and be available to many more guys than an SRM would.. Dave is in the middle of a trial, which, if it proves as successsful as it looks could be the answer he was looking for. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Dave is going down to Beaconsfield on Monday to have a proper grounding in the use of the TRX weight training system. He will be visiting Ian Blatchly's PT who is an expert with the equipment and will be coached on it's use for 3-4 hours. This is an exciting new way to do your weight training and saves time and money on going to the gym. AGAIN... WATCH THIS SPACE.

Dave also has his new bike ready to assemble for the 2010 Sportive season and maybe the Worlds and here's a pic of the beast !! LOVE THE FORKS !!

DAVE SAYS . ... "I rode out to the Cheshire Classic Womens National Series Race today and was absolutely made up to see BOTH my athletes who were in the race get into the break.. Kara Chesworth and Alli Holland.. They both looked SO comfortable in the 7 -up break and in the finish uphill, Kara led out a tad early into a block head wind and paid the price, but I was happy to see her get in the top ten for the second week running ( SUPER FORM !!)  with 7th place and Alli got a GREAT 4th place.. Absolutely fantastic for a complete novice... SO PROUD OF MY TWO GIRLS.... ONLY TWO OF "MY" GIRLS IN THE RACE AND BOTH IN THE BREAK !!! PERFECT !!

Nathan Thompson has gone from a whacking 25 mile TT PB last week to the same thing in a 10 mile TT this week. He has just done a 21'24", taking nearly ONE AND A HALF MINUTES of his previous best..TIME TO RAISE THE BAR NATHAN !!

Mark Thaxter, who was also in great form in Spain , did a cracking ride on the V124 10 mile TT on Sunday and went FASTER when EVERYONE ELSE went slower.. he picked up an excellent 4th place with his time of 21' 07".. GREAT RIDE MARK !!

Ben Dean was also 4th in his race today and is on a big learning curve and, believe me, this guy is a BIG talent... WELL DONE BEN !!

ONE THING THAT STICKS IN MY GULLET THOUGH IS THE VICTORY OF VINOKOUROV IN LIEGE-BASTOGNE-LIEGE TODAY.... ALL I CAN SAY IS... "WHAT A BLOODY TRAVESTY, AND WHAT AN INDICTMENT ON THE SPORT, THAT A CONFIRMED CHEAT CAN COME BACK AND WIN SUCH A "MONUMENT".. WHAT A BLOODY JOKE... MAKES ME COMPLETELY SICK !!"
