Keith Gunta. First USA athlete
Keith was Dave's first "long range" athlete from America. It was a bit of an experiment at the time, and now Dave coaches two US athletes with great success. Keith was a really average bike rider when he joined Dave and after only 12 months with Dave , he went from a 3rd Cat roadman to a 1st Cat. He improved well beyond what he thought was possible and had some superb results under Dave's guidance. He is seen here taking part in the mega-hard Mount Washington hill climb. It's a 7 mile , 1 in 4 swine of a climb. The record for the hill is about 58 minutes by Tyler Hamilton ... You remember him ..The guy who cheated and didn't get away with it, THANK GOODNESS. But , just like Rumsas, who now rides Italian Gran Fondos, these guys will always find something to do with their "new found" form.
Keith was a great pupil, though, and only had to stop with Dave due to work commitments ... AN EXPERIMENT THAT WORKED!
