1975 World Pro Road Race Champ at Yvoir
Getting instructions from the boss Peter Post to make sure I worked for Didi Thurau ... You can see from my face that I was very happy to hear these orders. Luckily (for me) Thurau was going crap on the day and I was left to do my own race.
Although I should have done a lot better if it hadn't been for a stupid loose shoe lace, I aquitted myself well in what was the hardest Worlds I have ever known ... This year I had ridden 126 days of racing and covered 30,000 miles ... PHEEEW ... I needed a rest ... I look drawn even before the race! The life of a professional bike rider eh?
