I was always ultra nervous before the 25 Champs ... Goodness knows why as I've ridden MUCH bigger events.
I never seemed to be at my best in June for some reason and had a close tussle with Darryl Webster for this one ... I probably overtrained for it on reflection.
Any way I beat him and was crowned National 25 Mile Champ for the second year running!
